Approach

Illustration created for a children’s story book, aimed at the infant to age 5 bracket. The design uses an easily digestible illustration style as its basis, focusing on complimentary primary colours to give the cover attention-grabbing shelf appeal when displayed amongst other books.

The combined use of a serif and a sans-serif typography to display the book title is intended to communicate a sense of whimsical playfulness – reflecting the fun journey that the story’s character is about to embark on.

Animation:
Cute cartoon style animation, designed to create a feeling of innocence and peace. A little boy is sitting happily under an apple tree when his daydreaming is suddenly interrupted by a falling apple, which lands right in the middle of his head. Despite the brief shock, he doesn’t let it ruin his mood and he quickly goes back to being happy.
